A highly experienced and versatile Design & Creative Director with expertise in CX + CRM, advertising and communication design. A strong track record of delivering imaginative, business-focused solutions across multiple touchpoints in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Able to handle multiple projects; and known for his calm, down-to-earth approach, particularly when leading a team.
Gilles began his career with an HND in photography at Arts University Bournemouth and then enrolled in a second HND in Digital Design at LCC (part of the University of the Arts London). He later completed a degree in Digital Design at Guildhall. He began his professional career at Locomotion, a post-production company in London's Soho that serviced leading advertising agencies. After four years, he moved to The Lab at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, where he worked on fully integrated campaigns for major brands and developed a wide range of skills, including art direction, digital design, motion graphics, editing, compositing, filming, photography, and retouching.
As head of the award-winning Digital Design department at FCB/inferno, he led the integration of the design process across the agency which helped the company win the Integrated Agency of the Year 2016 award at the Campaign Big Awards. As well as a Cannes Lion for Project Literacy and This Girl Can. More recently, he has worked as a freelance Senior Creative with some of London's top agencies and companies, including Landor, VCCP, WCRS, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis Sapient. He is now a permanent member of the Creative department at Bernadette | VCCP as a Design Director.
